| Dreams of Tomorrow (What Leaders had to say about their 'Dream School')
Std 9th Notre Dame Academy Leader 1
We all have dreams, some big and some small. School plays an important role in shaping our lives to a great extent. Everyone wishes to go to the best school of his/her choice .We all want to study in a place which we dream of and often discuss with friends when we talk about our dream school. So here I am telling my friend OXYGEN about my dream school. My dream school is a place where students are given enough liberties. A place, which we will call as our second home and not a school. It will be a school where children will want and love to come and never say that 'Oh Mom! I don't want to go to school which is a quoted every morning by students. My dream school will have a very friendly environment. The Students will be sharing an amiable relationship with all their teachers .The students will consider there teachers as a teacher cum friend with whom they can share their thoughts and discuss their problems. The teacher on their part will also neither embarrass the students in the class or anywhere nor will hurt their feelings. There will be a counselor to whom the students will go and share their problems and speak their minds with. In my dream school there will be one teacher for every 45 students where the teacher will give equal attention to all. In the present education system the assessment and promotion of the students is done on the basis of marks scored by the students in examination conducted at the end of the year but in my dream school assessment of the students ability to cope with the next class and promotion will be done on the performance of the student in class on a daily basis and the efforts put in by them in projects and assignments which will be given at equal intervals of the time. Quiz contests, debates, elocutions, spelling contests, JAM sessions would be conducted from time to time. Students will be given opportunities to deliver speeches so that they develop enough confidence to present their thoughts before a group. Counseling sessions will be held which will guide the students, how to boost up their confidence and not get nervous at any point of time. If the school will need to collect some funds like development fund it will consult the parents first so that the parents know what will be done by their hard earned money they give. Any step taken by the school authority that will involve the parents will be consulted by the parents. In my dream school there will be a swimming pool and a big playground with different sports field. Yoga and karate classes will be held. The school auditorium will be big enough so that all the students fit in comfortably. The teachers will also ensure that all the students get a chance to participate in programs that are held. The student will never complain that the same students are being selected to participate in the programs. I also dream that in the jubilee of my dream school personalities like Shahrukh Khan will pay visit and meet students. The school will have lush green gardens which all the people can come to and admire. Last but not the least, the school will always work for the benefit of the students and not for its own profit. So this is the school of my dreams.

School is probably the best part of any person's life. A child enters in a school with a cry refusing to leave mama papa and finally while leaving school he/she cries refusing to leave his/her friends. Today I am making my paper blue and black on my vision of the perfect school. I'll call my dream school as Dream High School . Dream high school campus will be full of greenery, trees and flowers all around. Dream High School will have a traditional administration chain Principal, Vice-Principal and a dean of discipline . Mr APJ Kalam will be principal of Dream High School because he is the only one who has proved to show the courage to turn dreams into reality. The teacher faculty will also include eminent motivational speakers like Shiv Khera, Sri Ravi Shankar and Mr Lalu Yadav as the Chief Management advisor. Then there will be a court christened as the Peer court which will determine and impose repercussions. Students accused of violating the rules will come before the Peer-court for a hearing. In Dream High School the emphasis will be on manners and values. So there will be no tests, no leader, no rankings, children will be assessed by everyday interaction with the teachers. Dream High School will be so good that there will be no need for tuitions. Teachers wouldn't tell the solution to problems but will teach the methods, the concepts, so that the students can solve all the problems in spite of promoting rote learning and making students so helter-skelter in trying to master the whole of syllabus. Dream High School will have two extraordinary system of education in IEP & PFL. IEP stand for individualized education program. Each child is born with a buring fire but the efforts should be to give wings to their fire. This is what dream high will do. The IEP would address the seven intelligence. The students will be nurtured and developed in their choice of intelligence. Second is PFL, i.e. Preparation for life. In this class students will be trained for the changes and the challenges of life. How to be better with others? How to face tides and turbulences of life? How to boast your own confidence etc will be all dealt in this class. In each classroom there will equipments for presentation, graphics, audio-clips so that students grasp knowledge easily. So this was my dream school . I hope it resonates with your dream school. At last, I would like to sum up saying- Dreams transform into thoughts and thoughts into actions, so start dreaming today because what isn't dream today isn't tomorrow.

'In the drowsy dark cares of mind, dreams, build their nests' such are the dreams of a child that flow in any direction. A school makes a person able to lead but difficult to drive, easy to govern but impossible to enslave. Dreams are like butterflies that wander everywhere even after realizing that fiction is different from reality, I dream of a school where my thoughts can wander free like butterfly, I'm going to tell you about my dream school. A school which understand the aspirations of the students; a school which gives the feeling of security and above all; a school which is home away from home... That's exactly my dream school . I dreamt of a school that not only makes us literates but imparts knowledge that can be shared. A school that nurtures good qualities in students and where they are practiced and not merely preached. I dreamt of a school where the principal not only governs the school but acts as the head of the family tying everyone in a single thread, where teachers are like our parents. Guiding us and where we have uncountable brothers and sisters. But as no rainbow can be formed without thunders and lightings, so are the students who will be given right shape through hard and soft approaches. This was the fictional part of my school. Every coin has two sides, so are reality and fiction the two sides of my school. Along with all the whims and fancies it should be monumental. There is no need for it to be very posh, but it should be of a standard level and yet down to Earth. There should be latest gizmos and gadgets for the students. A school that has well equipped laboratories is my dream school. Along with studies, it should also promote extracurricular activities for the students to freshen up their minds when they get bored of studying. Along with their academic skills; their hobbies should also be encouraged. As human mind is very creative and can run wild in isolation so the teachers of my school will also motivate the students in other fields. Last but not the least I would like to conclude with words of Swami Vivekananda- "We want that education by which character is formed, strength of mind increased, the intellect expanded and by which one can stand on one's feet..."

I want to fly, sore high in the sky but knowing the reality that I don't have wings I opt for a plane to fulfill my whirls. I don't dream of either ridding a hippogriff or fighting with dragons, yet I want to magic invent medicine which has healing power like the tears of phoenix so that it can even cure person ailing with AIDS. I want to create mutation in human genes are make the very cells so powerful that it can receive impulses from neighboring brains and read their thoughts. My mind and soul doesn't believe in fiction and as I am not a day dreamer I dream of things that belong to real world and so my dream school is neither a magic school nor does it belong to wizard world rather a beautiful palatial building with advanced electronic equipment and sound proof walls lined with wafer thin television set in every classroom is the school. My Dream School would be a place where a child is not merely taught rather they are educated and made better person for tomorrow's nation . Any one who desires to be educated regardless of his/her educational and financial background can be a part of that academy . There student are not bound to cram in order to achieve high percentage rather the studies and education pattern is made so interesting that everybody automatically gets good marks. Even if some don't perform well teacher should personally analyze their strengths and weaknesses and arrange for extra classes in their weak subject there must be an abundance of extra curricular activities in science, arts or commerce and students right from class 5 must be given the right to choose their stream of studies and branch of extra curricular activities . If one is good dancer, one must be encouraged to dance. Orators, speakers, sportspersons, debaters must also be encouraged likewise to pursue their fields of interest. Every science student must be provided with a private lab to carry on their own experiments. Teachers and students could be groomed and nurtured in that conducive environment. It must be a place where dreams, imaginations and ideas are transformed into reality. The examination pattern must too be different. In spite of having written and oral tests on scheduled dates, students should be assessed on a regular basis of their day to day work. The school must also conduct practical examinations of value education in order to inculcate in them a spirit of humanity and virtue. The students must be given a change to fulfill their dreams and desires and be among the great scientists and scholars whom we curse while reading our text books. It must be a place where students must be encouraged to carry on out their work and must be made to realize that they are special with some extra-ordinary quality. I would like to conclude by saying that it is place where a child is educated without being burdened by loads of books. There they can realize feel and understand what they are studying for example, the effects of global warming, it will not merely be taught as it is written in books rather students will visit places adversely affected by global warming and the measures taken to prevent it must not be verbally said but teachers and students must be motivated to plant trees in the premises and asked to take measures to reduce the emission of green house gases in their day-to-day lives. The school buses and other vehicles must be eco friendly and should run on CNG. There everything that is taught must be practically shown or presented before the student. Lastly I would sum up that the school of my dream is the place where everyone can enjoy their lives to the fullest in the course of being educated. It is the revival of ancient educational system collaborated with modern equipments. In one sentence the school of my dreams would be modern Gurukul with new technologies.

School as rightly said is a "TEMPLE OF LEARNING" but what is the need of going to this temple if all our wishes are not fulfilled. Therefore, I feel privileged to have been given an opportunity to pen down my thoughts of my idea of this Temple. A school were all students are given equal opportunity, opportunities of freely impressing their thoughts and views. In this so called contemporary world, the one common thing seen in all students is that they are hesitant. Hesitant in expressing their minds or clarifying their doubts and the only reason being that they'll become subjects of laughter. There I'd want my dream school to be a place where the students are free. Other aspects that would be taken care of in my school is the relation of a teacher with a student. As teachers are the people who mould our future and its their sincere efforts that decide or play an integral part in shaping our future. Thus Teacher Student ratio is very crucial here. Teachers should be allotted according to the strength of the classrooms. A teacher per 45 students would be the ratio of teacher to student in my class. The duration of all the classes should be of at least 45 minutes so that teachers are able to complete a bit of portion and so that they don't have to rush through the syllabus at the end of the year or before the examination when often the teacher fails to explain and the student fails to understand the intricacies or the details of the topic taught. Students go to school not only to gain knowledge from the books or just to pass in examinations but to learn a lot mere beyond books. Therefore I believe that there must be recreational classes per weak including sports such as different games, indoor as well as outdoor, dance, drama, music. As all work and no play would make the school life very dull and monotonous. One main aspect that would be dealt well in my dream school would be all of the lab activities, such as, if we look at one common example of a computer lab, in one lab there are 20 computers and 60 students in the class. As a result nor the teacher is able to concentrate on the students nor 3 students on just one computer. Seeking at the major problem of the excess growth or increment in prices, a school may not be able to afford a computer for each student but all they can do is to take lab classes in different shifts. Thus in my dream school each of the aspects mentioned would be very well taken care of. So whether it be of a question of getting equal opportunities or it be of co-curricular activities my school would be catering to the needs of modern world. Thus I conclude my write up by saying that my dream school would be a temple of learning and provide overall development of the child not merely 'bookish gyan'

Let's start dreaming of a dream school. What a beautiful scenario it would be! Yes, my dream school would have unique structure which will itself speak of it being a "Temple of education". This is a "Modern Gurukul" with the mixture of past and present as past is the base of present. It would consist Gurus full of emotion, sympathy and love. The learner Shisya would leave parents after 5 years of birth to seek education here as it had been done in the past. Parents would not get time to share their advice with their own children. And here the school will fulfill this requirement. It would have different section for mentally retarded and physically handicap children .Every student will play and study together; so that they would not get the feeling that they are alone. In terms of education, first priority would be give to discipline and decorum of school and society, then practical teaching. But there is no priority for bookish knowledge. As world had assumed that the future children are going to be worse hit, but these student would change this and the world shall see them by their education and manners. Guru and Shishya would have a relation of Friendship, Shishya would never hesitate to express the feelings about anyone. First one Guru the experienced person in every field of life and secondly the ‘Shishya with modern idea and thoughts and both will contribute in the system fully. This would change the thinking of children about their school and teacher. They would become more eager to go to school. It will increase their self confidence. Guru would be said as guru because he would be more experienced person then the Shisya but both will have respect for each other. There are some rules which would be followed Guru and Shishya (a) They have to go to bed early and wake up early in the morning. (b) Meditation would be necessary for them. (c) They would wear simple dresses and take healthy food so, that it doesn't distract their minds (d) They would be compelled to maintain discipline and decorum of the "Gurukul" (e) There should be unity in everyone and no one should think also that he/she is supreme. This equal behavior would be easily acceptable to both Guru and Shishya as every student will want to become teacher in their childhood. The best things will be that "Gurukul" would be surrounded by trees and there would be greenery all around. Science and technology has provided relaxation to man kind at the cost of environment. But no one realises the importance of Environment. There will come a time when science will destroy environment fully then this school would be the glory of Environment. The students there will feel the importance as the natural peace as they would become mentally, physically and emotionally strong. At last, I want to conclude that My Gurukul would be the choice of every student. My dream school will be eco-friendly as well as the ultimate desire of everyone. We will find today student who would be tomorrow parents saying 'if only it would have been established in our days.' The student which will come out of this school would be the best one and world would see her/him with pride and praise.'

We enjoy when we break the rules. So let me ask you that, Why such strict rules are meant? Why it is said that rules are meant to be broken. I don't want the rules and regulation to be absent from schools but to be in such a way that we students love to follow. School teaches us to cope up with the burdens but in reality school is providing all these burdens. I am not blaming the schools alone but the educational system of our country. Why government is not concerned to such a serious issue. After all what we sow today, we will reap it tomorrow. Why mostly the studies are made the biggest issue why not sports and all other activities. When we talk about education. It includes every aspect of a proper development and growth such as sports, moral values. A dream school is that which tries to nurture whatever ability a student has in any field. So that students can take it as a career in that particular field. Being 10th std. student I and my friends personally feel that we should be given any part time employment option. Instead of being all facilities provided in abundance by our parents, there still lies a feeling to earn money and know its value at early age. What we found , is that when we tried to seek some kind of employment then nobody was ready to trust, nobody had faith in our talent. Even our parents too deny to support us for such activities. We are left hapless for this I think only schools should come up for help and schools should take initiative in this matter. And now the other facilities like a personal locker, the concept of which is still not introduced in India at least in Bihar. Now about examinations, I personally feel that we are being over burdened with examinations. Students taking part in other activities should be provided relief for marks in examination. My friends do say that examination shouldn't be there but I feel examination must be there to know how much knowledge we got over a period but it should be planned so that students need not worry a lot about examinations. Lastly the dress code, earlier I had a feeling that we might be allowed to wear colorful dresses but now I feel it absolutely right to have dress code. I feel that schools after improving the things discussed can come closer to a Dream School
Std 9th St. Joseph's Convent
I have had companions, I have had playmates, my days of childhood in my joyful school days. These are the feelings of a student and school is the best phase of one's life. It is a temple of learning. It makes our identification, it leads to making of future creators, it helps in evil eradication, it is a roof of qualification, it develops a nation and overall it results in success. Success of not one child but of a country which aims at development, at making responsible citizens. Just as we sat that the flowers of today are the seeds of tomorrow. I often dreamt of my own Dream school. We are moving ahead in every field and just as we say that if one wants happiness for a lifetime, help the next generation. There are certain things which I would definitely want in my school. First and for most, the co-curricular activities should be given the same important as the academics. Sports and other things which could be beneficial for mediocre students as well as others. Lockers should be provided in schools because of the burden of books which a student has to carry. Foreign languages should be taught. Internet should be provided in every school to make them aware of the good and bad of contemporary world but under special guidance of the teachers. A students' council should be set up in school. Sex-education should be provided in schools and awareness of the most dreadful diseases such as AIDS should be provided to the students, its causes and precautions etc. They should be aware of the importance and use of condoms. Students should be taught with the help of digital projectors because practical knowledge gets into the brain more easily. Once in a year students should be taken for educational trips and visits to slums so that they know about the practical world. Teenage is a period when a student undergoes many physical and mental changes and there are many pressures so students with the joint efforts of teachers, counselors and parents should be taught to tackle teenage problems. A whole day should be devoted to activity classes. They local qualifiers in the national level competitive exams should be asked to give motivation classes and develop feeling of spirit among the students. The classrooms should be colorful and creative so that the boredom among the students is removed. Literacy to the non teaching staff and their children should be provided by the students of the school so that students gain a sense of responsibility that if they are getting education, it is meant to be spread and they are fortunate to have it. The student should driven to self-belief and individuality so that they can develop their unique talents. These are my dreams and I want to make them my aims for a better future and education of the students. Thus I would like to conclude with words of great philosopher Bacon- "Ambitions change into aim when we develop it with a motive to fulfill it.''
Std 10th DAV, BSEB
The highest minds of our country had the ability to make other join their endeavor to convert dreams into reality, so why can't our dreams come true? Vision ignites mind and when a million of new ideas will coincide then they will surely shape our destiny, so to make our country truly strong and prosperous, youth must dream. Nowadays small and tender kinds are sent to school. Since childhood, I too had also many dreams for my school, and I want to turn them into reality. I dream of that school everyday, wish it comes true. There should be an open space full of greenery with flowers all around. Here I can fulfill all my dreams , like a bird in the open sky I can show all my talent and creativity. Here I am not asked to do the usual school work rather asked to choose my favorite subject as well as my favorite sport, once I choose my favorites, I can decide my goals and pursue them. In my school, children should have the freedom to express their thought so that their voice is heard and feelings are reciprocated. They must have the option to choose the subject of their interest; no subject should be imposed over them by judging their marks because marks don't reflect true knowledge. They must be given the right to make career of their choice for which the subject should be job oriented. Emphasis should be given on co-curricular activities for which proper infrastructure as well as coaching classes should be provided. Burden of books must be reduced by introducing lockers etc. In today's world, group discussions etc are very important for the personality development as well as for career, because many people having knowledge can't avail good job opportunities because they are unable to express themselves or are introverts. Stress should be on over all development of children so that even the weak and shy child can grow in that atmosphere. Yoga classes should be introduced for the physical and mental development of children. All these things will develop confidence and self reliance among us which will make us ready to meet the call of our nation. This is how I want my dream school to be and I know I have to go miles to convert my dream into reality..
